GROWN-UP TV!!

The Shield

If you didn't catch the season opener of the FX drama The Shield on September 2nd, you've got to remember to set your DVR!!  Vick Mackey and the rest of the residents at the "barn" in Farmington are all back to their old tricks with personalities and agendas on a collision course.  In a surprise turn in the name of loyalty Ronny Gardocki does the unthinkable and Shane weasels out to live another day.  As usual, Vick's spotty past has him in a trustworthiness vacuum with his daugher and ex and newly installed Captain Paulette Wyms seems to be getting her feet under her in the commnd position.

This is the last season of the show so get watching, now!

The Mad Men new season began Sunday 7/27/08.  If you have an attention span longer than the average fourteen year-old, an interest in all things retro and haven't yet ventured down the path of  the critically acclaimed early 1960's Madison Avenue drama, then you're doing yourself a disservice.  Back for season two is all the old gang.  The build-up is slow (as is to be expected) but you should get in on the series now so you can learn who all the major players are before the water starts to get hot!

Mad Men airs on the AMC Channel. Check your local listings and log onto the AMC TV blogs to keep updated on the personal and business intrigue at Sterling Cooper.

The Shield Season 7 begins September 2nd.  Frankly I have no great love for bad cop TV but this show really grabbed me in the second season.  I've been addicted ever since.  http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/the_shield/

So Far there is no official word as to when Nip/Tuck season 6 will begin, but I will definitely be keeping and eye out!

COMIC AND POP-CUTURE EXPO
"CAPE"  2008

The Dallas Comic And Pop-culture Expo "CAPE" takes place simultaneously with the Free Comicbook Day Event each May.  The third year of the event, this one seemingly exploded with the new and established talent that took part in the exposition.

Take the opportunity to read my webzine review of the 2008 Cape Day at www.PaperDragonInk.com/Jun08.pdf  in the Comic Comprndium section.
